A digital panorex is a piece of imaging equipment that creates a 360 degree image of your entire oral cavity. Yes, we mentioned digital for a reason. Digitial panoramic x-ray equipment have multiple advantages over traditional film panoramic machines. The two primary are greater diagnositc image and a release of up to 70% less radiation. This image allows Dr. Becker to diagnosis bony pathology (which can include infections and cysts), monitor wisdom tooth growth and alignment, measure bone space for future implant sites, and monitor sinus cavities. A panorex is primarily taken with your first visit to our office so we can establish a baseline to compare with future images.
